Memory Quilt for Marian

Tom’s T’s of Travel

Bruce’s father, Tom, passed away last month. He was elderly-93! Even though it is sad and we miss him, this is the expected outcome for us all. We are grateful for the time we got to spend and remember him fondly. One of the great things I enjoyed about Tom (and Marian, still with us) was the stories of world travel. When Tom passed, Marian bagged up all his T-Shirts and handed them to me to make a quilt. I have started on this and will take you on this little journey – both as a tribute to my father-in-law and as a resource for those of you wanting to tackle a project like this. Though Tom and Marian rarely agreed on all the details of the trips they took, Tom’s T-shirts tell a story of global adventure dating back for as long as I have been a part of the family.
